What comes after 9?
New Star Wars movie is set “5 or 6 years” after TRoS

Shawn Levy's Star Wars movie, which is set to star Ryan Gosling, will be arriving after The Mandalorian & Grogu – and it'll take place after The Rise of Skywalker on the Star Wars timeline.
The update comes courtesy of Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, who spoke to Deadline about what's in the works for Star Wars.
"I'm producing the Mandalorian movie right now, and I'm also producing Shawn Levy's movie, which is after that," Kennedy revealed, while dispelling rumors about reports of her imminent retirement.
Later in the same interview, she shared more about the Levy movie. "That’s also in the future. It’s all post-[the first] nine. Shawn’s is a standalone Star Wars story that'll take place post-nine, maybe five or six years out," she said. That would make Levy's movie the first post-Rise of Skywalker project to be released.
"And Mandalorian really stands on its own because there, we're dealing with a whole other era in the New Republic. We have other development going on in that space as well. So that's the space that we're pretty much focused on right at the moment, because obviously with Mandalorian we have a pretty good sense of where that's going. And with this, it's all pretty much new characters. We may bring some of the characters back from the sequel saga, but pretty much new characters."
The tease about sequel characters potentially returning is also an exciting one – after all, we know a Rey movie has been in the works for some time, so could the Jedi be showing up in Levy's movie? We'll just have to wait and see. source

Andor showrunner is moving from galaxy far far away
Tony Gilroy talks about his time with Star Wars franchise

Speaking to Collider’s Maggie Lovitt ahead of the final season of Andor, showrunner and writer Tony Gilroy has made it clear that his time with Star Wars appears to be over and he’s not feeling guilty about it.
Gilroy, who was a major force behind the reshoots on Rogue One before crafting one of the most acclaimed Star Wars projects in Andor, reflected on just how much of his career has been dedicated to the franchise. When asked about Kennedy’s comments, he revealed, “It’s not really part of my plan.”
“I’ve been peripherally involved for 10 years and intensely involved for six years, so that’s a pretty big chunk of my life. There are other things to do. I think when it’s done, I will have left a pretty big piece of Star Wars real estate behind. I’m not feeling guilty about not chipping in. ”
Season 2 of Andor will premiere in April, but his next project will take him far away from blasters, the Empire, and Rebel spies: “There’s a movie I’m trying to make. I want to direct. I’d like to direct before I forget how. So, I have a movie I’m trying to get off. We’ll see if I get the money for it.”
And while Gilroy is best known for his political thrillers like Michael Clayton, he revealed that this new project will take him into completely new territory.
“It’s a movie about movie music.” source

More Moff?
Giancarlo Esposito hopes there’s more for Moff Gideon
In a major new career-spanning interview, Empire spoke to Giancarlo Esposito about, among many other things, his Star Wars villain, and he suggested it might not be the end for the character.
“There is a big movie coming out that’s focusing on Mando and The Child. I can’t say it’ll be that. But I hope to be able to join that franchise again, because I think there’s more road for Moff Gideon.”

Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon
Gideon marks another glorious villain in Esposito’s roster of rotters, and it was a part into which he poured plenty of personal stuff.
“Moff Gideon, to me, was ultimately that young boy who never had any power, who was always questioned about the colour of his skin,” he says. “‘Are you white? Are you Black? Your hair is kind of curly?’ And he then took on this place for me, where he was ultimately the power, not only because of his physicality but because of his brain.”
It was a sense of power and control that Esposito took with both hands. “The way he spoke, and everything else which I was able to create in such a powerful way, empowered me to control the chaos around me.”
