Natalie Portman imagines on how Padme could return to Star Wars

Padme Amidala

During a recent appearance on The One Show on Tuesday, 6 May, Portman shared her thoughts about possibly bringing Padmé back.
Hosts Alex Jones and Clara Amfo asked her if she ever imagined reviving her Star Wars character and how she would like to see Padmé return.

“With a lightsaber. I think she’d have to be a Jedi. If somehow she were brought back from the dead. That would be exciting.”

The question came up while Portman was promoting her new adventure film Fountain of Youth, directed by Guy Ritchie. However, when asked about Star Wars, she was quick to share her dream of wielding a lightsaber as Padmé. source

Destiny 2 is getting the whole Star Wars Expansion

The next year of Destiny 2 includes a massive homage to Star Wars. Destiny 2: Renegades is an expansion coming in December complete with lightsabers and a destination that looks very reminiscent of Tatooine.

What exactly will Renegades entail besides Star Wars fonts and iconic weaponry from a galaxy far, far away? Bungie isn’t saying just yet. The announcement came as a “one more thing” tease at the end of its Year Of Prophecy showcase focused on what the future of its sci-fi MMO shooter looks like, and there’s no information yet on just how closely it will bleed into the actual Star Wars universe, though the team isn’t being shy about the inspiration. source

A full reveal will come in September, but for now here’s the initial teaser trailer:

Andor creator reveals scrapped K-2SO “horror movie” episode

Tony Gilroy explains the ditched origin story and why it was scrapped.

We finally got our Cassian and K-2SO meet-up origin story on episode 8 of Andor’s second season as the rebellion hero and reprogrammed imperial droid had their long-awaited meet-cute during the massacre on Ghorman.

However, Andor creator Tony Gilroy reveals to Entertainment Weekly that there was originally a very different K-2SO introduction plan in mind. In fact, it was an entire episode with a tonally unique vibe from the rest of the series.

Dan Gilroy wrote an amazing, entirely self-contained episode that was episode 209,” Gilroy reveals, referring to his brother and Andor writer. “It was an amazing episode that was like a horror movie.”

So what exactly happened in this scrapped K-2SO horror movie episode that was originally slated to be episode 9 of season 2? “It was the K2 story,” Gilroy explains. “They had to bring this huge ugly tanker ship to Yavin, and there was a KX unit that was trapped inside there hunting. It was sort of like a monster movie with K2 on it. It was really cool.”

As for why the entire episode never made it to the filming stage, it came down to a matter of economics. “We could not afford to do it,” sighs Gilroy. “It was made clear that it was out of the range, so we had to abandon that and consolidate things.” That consolidation also meant moving up Mon Mothma’s big senate speech, which was originally slated for episode 10. source

The High Republic: Tempest Breaker is the upcoming script book version of the canon audio drama of the same name. It will be written by Cavan Scott, and published by Random House Worlds on May 13, 2025.

The Acolyte: Wayseeker

Publishers summary

The Jedi reluctantly team up with the nefarious Lourna Dee in this full script for the Star Wars the High Republic audiobook original, Tempest Breaker.

Lourna Dee is not a villain. She's not a hero. She's a survivor. The former Tempest Runner, wanted by both her Nihil allies and the Republic, has evaded imprisonment and death from both groups more times than she can count. But even Lourna cannot outrun the mysterious blight that devours everything wherever it appears. And Marchion Ro, the Eye of the Nihil, has announced that only he knows the secret to stopping it.

Desperate, the Republic and Jedi turn to Lourna with an offer: help the Jedi stop the blight, and in return, Lourna will have a clean slate and the chance to decide her own future. Teamed with Avar Kriss and Keeve Trennis, the same Jedi who once hunted her, Lourna leads the search for the Nihil's chief scientist, Baron Boolan, the only being who may have answers to the mystery of the blight, as well as Marchion Ro's true plans.

Lourna weighs the Republic's offer of true freedom against her own instincts for survival as her team heads deeper into Nihil territory, straight toward the very dangers Lourna has worked for so long to elude. And when the opportunity arises to face off against Marchion Ro himself, even Lourna Dee may be willing to sacrifice everything to fulfill a quest for revenge.
