Keanu Reeves as a Jedi?

Neo, John Wick.... Star Wars?

Hello there!

Good morning Star Wars lovers. Wookiee Weekly again with the new issue and more interesting Star Wars content for their fans.

Keanu as a Jedi or a Sith?

Keanu Reeves almost played Master Sol in ‘The Acolyte’

Keanu and Carrie

We’ve learned a few things in the aftermath of the cancelation of The Acolyte.

One of the big ones was that Keanu Reeves was one of the candidates to play Master Sol, and though it didn’t work out schedule-wise, the actor may come back in the future for a different project.

Reeves was “very” interested in the part, and was incentivized to take it after realizing he’d be sharing the screen with his Matrix co-star Carrie-Anne Moss. However, he was filming the John Wick spin-off Ballerina around the same time Lucasfilm shot The Acolyte, so the gig ended up going to Lee Jung-jae.

Reeves has a “key supporting role” in the aforementioned film, but Lionsgate refused to readjust the actor’s schedule. Sources at Lucasfilm stress that the actor was never offered a part in the show, but that they are “huge fans of his work”.

Of course, little else is known about this for now. He has a few things lined up for the next few months, but there are no Star Wars productions going up before the end of the year outside of The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is currently happening.

Keanu Reeves has been tied to The Acolyte for a while, with some rumors spreading online about him suiting up as Darth Revan, a character from Knights of the Old Republic whom Reeves has been fan-cast as for years. Whether accidentally or not, there was fire where there was smoke, apparently.

The end is in sight for The Mandalorian?

The Mandalorian

An end for Star Wars' The Mandalorian series may be in sight after more than half a decade of streaming dominance. According to reporting from insider Daniel Richtman (aka DanielRPK), the upcoming Mandalorian movie is being seen as the final chapter of the beloved Disney+ show: “I have also confirmed the Mandalorian movie will be the final chapter of the show, no season 4. He will be in other projects after that but 'The Mandalorian' will be over."

As noted by Richtman, that is not to say Pedro Pascal's armored bounty hunter will not have a presence in the franchise at all going forward. However, The Mandalorian as a separate series/franchise should end following Jon Favreau's Mando-centric movie (which is set to debut in theaters on May 22, 2026).

In February 2023, Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau revealed to fans that he had "written [Season 4] already," before the end of Season 3 had even happened:

Season 4? Yea, I’ve written it already. We have to know where we are going to tell a fully formed story. So, we had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I. And then slowly you just write each episode. So I was writing it during post production because all of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.”

Those plans would change, however, thanks to some creative soul-searching that took place during the actors' and writers' strikes of Summer 2023.

So, instead of Season 4, new adventures of Mandalorian and Grogu will see light in the new movie in 2026. At least we will have proper ending of this beautiful story. source
